Streetdance Magazine – Dj vs. Bj (ENG)

Being a Dj is definitely not easy – well better if I say “was not” easy when I was at the begining. Firstly, I had to possess my own equipment, then lets say sort of repertoire that you may play at the parties plus you had to build your own brand and reputation. Besides the dedication, all of the mentioned required lots of investments, which are definitely not one-off type but continuous ones. I was visitng my local vinyl store on weekly basis for a regular dose of music for sort of ‘digging’ in order to find out something new. After couple of years, lots of parties I played at and several battles as well, I started to explore the mystery of this skill and in the end I found that being a DJ comes with huge responsibility. Moreover, this title has to be deserved. Continue Reading →

The Lower Class – Flight of Ideas

The Lower Class is an alternative hip hop trio formed in San Marcos, composed of Josh Tatum (Pliny Science), Anthony Torres (imaGenius), Xavier Palin (Kartune). This debut album is great, thats why i like new artists because they are alway try to do the best. I love the flow, but the productions are the best ! I dont know why they call this indie or alternative, because this is hip hop for me, that freedome and difference. Another great thing is that you wouldnt concider these guy as a rappers. Look at the photo below – thats what i like most, when you have your faith inside not outside. Its free to download. And i recently found out, there is a video clip to banger from this album/mixtape – Game Over, watch it below. Continue Reading →

Art of Time

Its funny what you can find on 9gag.com :D Even funnier is what human creativity can do with ordinary thing like clocks. I don’t know the creators of this great pieces so i can not give them proper credit for that, but as you can see or will see, they deserve it. Some of the clock is pretty hard to read of (and i don’t talk about reading the clock in general). Imagine you have something like that on your wall. Pretty impressive Continue Reading →

Streetdance Magazine – Dj vs. Bj

Message to dance “teachers”

This article is actually my friends Ill Kosby status on FB. I know not everybody is FB friend with him so now you have the opportunity to read what he wrote. Ill Kosby is collage professor and real hip hop educator. Author of the documentary Everything Remains Raw.

What has happened to quality in hip-hop dance education? Where has it gone? Was it ever there to begin with? I remember when my cousin tried to write graffiti by drawing a finished product, I told him you have to learn letter construction first and work from there. I’ve seen many of these classes, from both the hip hop community and the “commercial choreographic” perspective and my thoughts are Continue Reading →
